As part of our new learning around helping nature to grow in urban environments, Reception took a walk to Hampton Court Palace to see the wildflowers. We read the story ‘Bees in the City’ before setting off, fully equipped with waterproofs and wellies and ready for more rain! We discussed ways to grow and care for plants in our local area and the vital role of bumblebees and, despite the rain, the children did spot a few! We paused for a biscuit to keep our energy up and then continued down to the riverbank to feed the ducks before returning to school for lunch.
