Thank you for your interest in Hampton Court House, an independent, co-educational school for children aged 2 to 18. Our independent school admissions process is guided by a dedicated Admissions team, who will support you step by step from your first visit to your child’s first day.

Entry arrangements vary depending on your child’s age and the section of the school they’re joining, so we’ll always guide you through the steps that apply to your family.

How to Apply to Hampton Court House 

Our private school admissions process has five steps: 

1. Visit or enquire. Book a Personal Tour, attend an Admissions Morning or contact our Admissions team. 
2. Register. Complete the online application form and pay the £180 registration fee  
3. Submit documents. Email a copy of your child’s passport and a recent school or nursery report to admissions@hchnet.co.uk, along with a visa if applicable. 
4. Assessment. Your child is invited to a trial session or an online assessment, depending on their age, and some applicants are then invited to an interview. 
5. Decision. We’ll let you know whether we’re able to offer your child a place, and guide you through the next steps.

Entrance Assessments and Interviews 

Our entrance assessments help us understand your child’s strengths, particularly in English and Maths, and whether Hampton Court House is the right fit for them. 

• Nursery to Year 2: children attend a trial morning or day in school. 

• Year 3 to Year 10: children complete online Quest assessments in English and Maths  

• Sixth Form: applicants meet the Head of Sixth Form and Vice Principal Academic and offers are conditional on GCSE results. See Sixth Form admissions. 

After the assessment, children are invited to an interview. Full details of assessments, interviews and offers are in the Admissions Pack. If your child may need access arrangements during an assessment, please contact our Admissions team in advance.

The Dukes Village 

Hampton Court House is part of Dukes Education, a family of schools and educators. Together, we offer the chance of an all-through education, with continuity from the early years to Sixth Form. 

Children moving from Dukes nurseries, prep schools and senior schools can be guaranteed a place at our key entry points (Nursery, Reception, Year 7 and Year 12), subject to a place being available and to the child being able to thrive within our ethos and curriculum. Occasional places in other year groups are offered subject to availability.

As an all-through school, we welcome students from Dukes nurseries, prep schools, and senior schools, providing guaranteed entry at key entry points: Nursery, Reception, Year 7, and Year 12. This transition is subject only to the availability of a place and a child’s ability to thrive within the school’s ethos and curriculum. We also offer entry for occasional places, subject to availability in the desired year group, ensuring flexibility and continuity within the Dukes community.

This seamless transition allows each child to progress confidently through their educational journey, supported by a familiar and nurturing environment that celebrates individuality and promotes long-term growth and development.
