Our students enjoyed an energetic and engaging first day back at Hampton Court House, with a programme designed to reconnect, build confidence and prepare them for the year ahead.
The day began with students being welcomed by their teachers before coming together for a whole-school Welcome Back Assembly led by Kate. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with friends, meet new staff and the new Sixth Form Student Leaders Team and start the new academic year together.
The morning kicked off with team-building activities in the sunshine, with students taking part in icebreakers, collaborative challenges and a thrilling game of Capture the Flag. Year 11 also took part in an insightful study skills session delivered by Elevate Education, equipping them with practical strategies to support their learning and prepare for the year ahead.
In the afternoon, students divided into their Houses for a series of competitive challenges, including code breakers, construction challenges and a scavenger hunt. The activities tested problem-solving, communication, creativity and teamwork, with plenty of friendly competition along the way!
Taking a day off timetable provided a fantastic opportunity for our Senior students to reconnect, strengthen relationships and, particularly for our new starters, form friendships and feel part of the HCH community. With the first day back full of energy and enthusiasm, our students were ready to return to the classroom on Tuesday and begin an exciting new year.
