Year 8 boys took part in an engaging and rewarding rowing taster session at Moseley Boat Club this week. They had the opportunity to explore the club’s equipment, test their fitness by competing on the rowing machines, and experience the rowing tank, where they developed the skills and techniques needed to row on open water.
The boys learned about the different roles within a rowing crew, how to handle the oars effectively, and the importance of communication, timing, and teamwork in keeping the boat moving efficiently. Throughout the session, they embraced every challenge, worked exceptionally well together, and approached each activity with enthusiasm and determination. The session provided a valuable introduction to rowing and offered the boys a glimpse of the opportunities and experiences that rowing can provide within the PE programme.
