This term, two Hampton Court House teams proudly represented the school on Netball Tour, with 16 students taking to the courts for a weekend filled with competition, resilience and unforgettable memories. After a long journey on Friday, excitement and anticipation were high as students looked ahead to a busy weekend of fixtures, activities and team bonding.
The Year 8/9 team began their matches on Saturday morning, demonstrating determination and perseverance throughout a challenging set of fixtures. With each game, the team grew in confidence and cohesion, finishing the day with a well-earned victory and several closely contested performances.
Meanwhile, the Year 7/8 team enjoyed a morning of activities before stepping onto the courts for their afternoon fixtures. Initial nerves soon gave way to confidence as the team settled into their stride, showing excellent teamwork and commitment across all five matches and securing a deserved win by the end of the day.
Away from the courts, the tour provided plenty of opportunities for students to relax and enjoy time together. Whether attending the evening disco, taking part in activities around the site or joining in an impromptu game of netball in the rain, the weekend was filled with laughter, camaraderie and moments that will be long remembered.
Both teams returned to the courts on Sunday morning for their final fixtures, continuing to build on the progress made throughout the weekend. The Year 8/9 team secured two further victories to finish in an impressive 6th place overall, while the Year 7/8 team rounded off the tour with a win and a draw, placing 5th in their competition.
Throughout the tour, all students represented Hampton Court House exceptionally well, demonstrating excellent sportsmanship, positivity and support for one another at all times. Beyond the success on court, the weekend offered valuable opportunities to strengthen friendships, build confidence and create lasting memories as part of the wider HCH community.
Special congratulations go to Julia and Eleanor, who were deservedly named Players of the Tournament for their respective teams, in recognition of their outstanding contributions throughout the weekend.
