Mental Health Awareness Week

Posted: 15th May 2026

Mental Health Awareness Week brought a wonderful sense of energy and togetherness across the school, with students of all ages taking part in a wide range of activities designed to promote wellbeing, creativity and connection. From mindful moments to lively team activities, the week offered many opportunities for students to pause, reflect and enjoy time together.

Our youngest pupils delighted in leaf printing, using natural materials to create beautiful botanical artwork, while yoga sessions led by our School Counsellor, Naz, introduced both the Little Courtiers and older students to mindful movement and calming breathing techniques.

Sam led laps around the lake much to everyone’s excitement. Students embraced the challenge, showing great enthusiasm and they managed to get a good few in before the rain stopped their fun! The students were spurred on by the housepoints awarded per lap.

The Dance Studio was filled with music and laughter as Ellie and Ella led energetic dance sessions, encouraging students and staff alike to join in and learn a few new moves along the way. Creativity flourished through the Design a Bookmark competition and hat designing activities, with many imaginative entries already submitted. We look forward to announcing the winner, next week.

Throughout the week, assemblies led by Head Student Isabella Barker and Wellbeing Coordinator Sage, focused on the importance of human connection, highlighting that in the world that we live in where there are so many ways to communicate immediately it is still important to be aware of how people around us feel, to check in with each other in person and try to add a little sparkle to someone else’s day.

Next week and continuing after half term, we will continue some of the activities that we were unable to do this week due to the weather. From planting and stone decorating to creating our own sun catchers, we can’t wait to continue in these positive wellbeing activities in the coming weeks. Due to demand, next week Ruth will be creating more lavender bags with pupils, it was such a popular activity that this week, we ran out!
