We were delighted to support the Big Give Christmas Challenge once again this year by hosting another fabulous bake sale in aid of this wonderful cause.
So many of our students and staff got involved in the organising, baking, selling – and of course enthusiastically purchasing – the delicious cakes and biscuits on offer. A special thank you goes to our brilliant bake sale team, made up of students from Years 8, 9 and 10, whose energy and enthusiasm were infectious throughout the day.
These lovely photos feature our Year 8 pupils Lily, Eva, Sima, Freya, Irina and Jessica. Also part of the bake sale team, but not pictured, were Andy (Year 8), Dax (Year 9) and, from Year 10, Atrina, Gunes, Mani, Luke and Echo.
The day was filled with heart-warming moments, including one particularly moving story of a pupil who showed extraordinary generosity and compassion for his peers in Kenya and Uganda by donating all of his pocket money to the bake sale, explaining that “the cause was very important and he wanted to help”.
Thanks to the incredible efforts of our students and staff, Hampton Court House raised a fantastic £184.50. This contribution played an important part in the outstanding final total of £30,516 raised through the Big Give Christmas Challenge after match funding (including Gift Aid). As a result, 31 vulnerable girls in Uganda will now be able to complete their entire secondary education.
Knowing that these girls’ futures are being transformed through education is truly inspiring. With the opportunities this support provides, they can fulfil their potential, pursue their dream careers, support their families and communities, and one day send their own children to school. We are immensely proud to have played a part in this and are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed.
