Rob grew up in Gloucestershire, where he was a cathedral chorister and music scholar, and studied English Literature at Durham University. He then spent a handful of years working in the City before completing his PGCE.

Before joining Hampton Court House, Rob spent sixteen years teaching English in a variety of schools in London and nearby. An enthusiastic advocate of a literature-based approach to English language teaching, he is passionately interested in Shakespeare, Austen, Larkin and whatever he happens to be reading at the moment – especially if it’s poetry. He is experienced in preparing students for GCSE, A Level, and Russell Group and Oxbridge entrance.

Outside the classroom, Rob spends most of his time raising his two daughters, writing, walking, and continuing to play a few musical instruments with varying degrees of competence.
