Matthew Sison


Position: Assistant Principal (Community)

Matthew was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He studied at the University of Guelph where he earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Kinesiology and discovered his passion for teaching. Matthew then obtained a Bachelor of Education at Queen’s University with specialisms in biology and physical education while completing teaching placements in several Canadian schools.

After graduation, Matthew moved to the U.K. to teach biology within various schools while taking on roles as Head of Biology, Head of KS3 Science, and form tutor for years 7-13. Matthew has worked as a GCSE biology examiner, private tutor, and author of ‘Super Simple Biology: The Ultimate Bitesize Guide’ published internationally by DK Books.

Matthew’s interests include dance, volleyball, fitness, and board games. Matthew is a former competitive dancer with training in ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, hip-hop, and salsa. He trained with a London dance company called ‘House of Jazz’ and has taught dance in secondary schools and universities. Matthew’s interest in fitness led him to become a certified strength and conditioning specialist. He has experience as a personal trainer for varsity athletes, sports camp director for children, and volleyball coach for adults.
