Our Year 7–10 footballers travelled to Ascot to take part in the ISA U13 and U15 Football Tournament hosted by LVS Ascot, where they threw themselves into a series of fast‑paced, highly competitive 6‑a‑side, 10‑minute matches before progressing into the knockout stages.
The U13s, captained by Kourosh in Year 7, produced a thrilling opening‑match comeback, overturning a 2–0 deficit with determination and composure to secure a dramatic 3–2 win, with Kourosh expertly dictating the tempo from midfield. The U15s, led confidently by Magnus in Year 10, were equally impressive, scoring two sublime, well‑taken goals and showcasing real defensive heroics when Yusuf pulled off a remarkable last‑second diving save to deny the opposition.
Both teams qualified for the Plate knockout rounds, where the U15s battled hard but narrowly missed out in the quarter‑finals, while the U13s rose to the occasion once again, holding their nerve in an epic 6–5 penalty shootout after a tense 1–1 draw to book their
place in the final.
Although they finished as runners‑up, the team demonstrated exceptional resilience, skill and teamwork, proving they can compete confidently against some of the strongest independent schools in the South. Well done Courtiers!
