HCH was delighted to host this year’s Offer Holders Day – an exciting and memorable afternoon for all students who have been offered a place to join Year 7 in September. It was a wonderful opportunity to welcome our newest cohort and their families into the HCH community. Students took part in a lively treasure hunt around the school, helping them to familiarise themselves with their new surroundings in a fun and engaging way. Along the route, they enjoyed an interactive drumming workshop, learnt new skills as they practised Mandarin calligraphy and met the much-loved residents of our ever-popular Zoo Club, including Norris the chuckwalla, Arrabbiata the corn snake and Kirby the axolotl! The afternoon culminated in the Shell Grotto, where students collected their prizes (including their very own toy axolotl to take home) and parents joined us for refreshments.
Events like this play an important role in ensuring a smooth and successful transition to secondary school. As an all-through school, HCH understands first-hand how crucial these early experiences are in building confidence, easing anxieties and laying the foundations for strong friendships and positive relationships with staff.
It was a fantastic afternoon, filled with excitement and anticipation.
We very much look forward to welcoming students and their families back, along with all new starters across the school, for a celebratory BBQ in early September.
