Celebrating Chinese New Year

Posted: 13th February 2026

On the last day of term, our school community came together to celebrate Chinese New Year a few days early.

In the morning, Prep children took part in an exciting dance workshop, moving, laughing, and enjoying every moment. It was a fun and energetic way to end the term while celebrating Chinese culture with the children. Well done, everyone!

At lunch, the whole school enjoyed a traditional (and delicious) Chinese lunch and Senior students participated in a fun workshop with interactive activity tables. Students tried traditional Chinese calligraphy by writing the character 福 (fu – good fortune), took part in a fun chopsticks challenge, and created colourful dragon crafts to celebrate the occasion.

Gentle Chinese instrumental music set a relaxed and cultural atmosphere. The excitement continued with a joyful karaoke session, where everyone sang along to
festive favourites including Gong Xi Fa Cai, The Zodiac Song, Peng You, and Ping Ju. The workshop concluded on a high note, leaving students inspired, engaged, and full of festive cheer.

We would like to extend a very big thank you to Xue, our Mandarin teacher, for organising such a wonderful day for our students. Filled with activities and delicious food, it was a day full of exciting, new and immersive experiences.
