An Education as Individual as Your Child
Hampton Court House offers a deeply personal, purposeful and distinctive education. Our guiding belief is simple yet powerful: every child is truly known, valued and developed as a unique individual. From the moment your child joins Hampton Court House, they are recognised not as part of a cohort, but as an individual with their own talents, interests and potential. This philosophy shapes every aspect of school life – from the way we teach, to how we build relationships, support wellbeing and prepare young people for life beyond school.
An All-Through Education
Our unique status as an all-through school offers every student a continuous and enriching educational journey without the stress of 11+ and 13+ assessments. Under our shared ethos Achievement with Heart, students benefit from seamless transition, continuity of support and standards and a true culture of community, enabling every student to focus on learning and personal growth.
By maintaining the same values, expectations, and ethos across every stage of education, we create an environment that helps children feel secure, supported, and ready to flourish.
An Award-Winning School
We are proud to have been the recipient of many awards in 2025, affirming all that we seek to achieve for both our students and school.
We were named a Finalist for the London Independent School of the Year after being shortlisted for two years in a row. We were the winner of the Innovation in Education Award for Support Beyond Life (2025) and of the Education Choices Developing Student Voice Award (2025), and finalist for the Education Choices Opportunities in Art and Music Award (2025).
These awards are testament to curious, confident and ambitious students; our teachers who inspire and build relationships with them and the strength of our community who make HCH such a remarkable place to learn and grow.
Academic Excellence and Personal Growth
Hampton Court House consistently ranks in the top 20% of independent schools in the UK in terms of results and 2025 was no exception.
Outstanding GCSE and A-Level outcomes reflect a progressive approach grounded in motivation and engagement. At GCSE, 20% of all grades awarded were A* (9) with 61% of all grades at A*/ A (9-7). At A-Level, 35% of all grades awarded were A*/A and 60% of all grades at A*/B, with a 100% acceptance rate for medical applicants. Our students take up places at prestigious institutions including Russell Group and Oxbridge, as well as international universities.
Our philosophy of Achievement with Heart balances high academic expectations with a nurturing, supportive learning environment that develops individual understanding. We combine academic ambition with warmth, trust and genuine care. Small class sizes and expert subject teaching ensure that teachers know each student well, adapting learning to stretch, support and inspire. Students are encouraged to think critically, question confidently and develop intellectual independence. We are proud to lift each student off their academic flightpath, and our students achieve between 1 – 1.6 grades higher than their predicted academic scores. However, at HCH success is measured not only by grades, but by progress, confidence and personal growth.
Unique Sixth Form Preparing You for Life
Our Sixth Form is more than academic preparation—it’s a transformative journey shaping confident, resilient, and socially minded young adults.
Our unique Preparing for Life Sixth Form programme has been specifically designed around evidence-based pillars which equip our students with the skills, mindset and self-belief to thrive beyond university. Blending rigorous A-Level study with holistic development across physical health, mental wellbeing, leadership, cultural exposure, and community engagement. From one-to-one executive leadership coaching to physical and core strength gym training delivered by experts; cultural visits to the theatre and the opera to opportunities for philanthropy, we equip students not just for university, but for life. In 2025, the Preparing for Life programme received recognition by winning the Talk Education Innovation in Education national award for Support Beyond Life.
A Holistic Approach
Education at HCH is holistic by design, blending academic study, experiential learning, language proficiency, creative exploration, physical health and the arts, delivered by passionate teachers who are subject specialists, and experts in their field. Our aim is not just academic success, but more importantly to develop well-rounded individuals – young people who leave our school with independence, empathy, and emotional intelligence.
Learning at HCH extends far beyond the classroom, offering a rich and carefully curated programme that spans the arts, sport and languages. Alongside a broad range of clubs, workshops, trips and events, students benefit from exceptional opportunities including a nationally rare LabelFrancÉducation-accredited French Immersion programme in Years 1-4, with pathways to DELF qualifications, and the option to study French, Spanish, Mandarin or Latin from Year 5.
Music and Performing Arts are woven into everyday school life, offering opportunities from instrumental and vocal tuition, ensembles, theatre, songwriting and performance, and encouraging every student to take creative risks and grow in confidence, skill and artistic joy. Our students enjoy a broad sports programme of over 20 sports, with weekly curriculum lessons, clubs and competitive fixtures that support participation and enable them to find a sport they love. From swimming and team sports to rowing and expert gym coaching, we have access to nearby world class sporting facilities with partnerships with St Mary’s University, East Molesey Rowing Club and X-Cel Sports Hub.
From Early Years to Sixth Form, every experience is designed to broaden horizons, build confidence and inspire a lifelong love of learning.
A Culture Built on Trust and Student Voice
A defining feature of HCH is our philosophy of purposeful informality. Students do not wear uniforms and address staff by their first names – breaking down barriers to learning and building trust. Strong relationships create an environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves, taking intellectual risks and contributing their views. Students play a key role in school decisions, helping young people develop confidence and a strong sense of belonging. Our focus was recognized in the national Educational Choices Awards in 2025, which we won for Developing Student Voice.
Led by Student Wellbeing
A proactive approach to wellbeing in everyday school life ensures students feel supported emotionally as well as academically. Professional staff and trained student Mental Health Champions lead their own peer initiatives including a dedicated Recharge Room with mindfulness activities, wellbeing walks and Leo, the school wellbeing dog. This integrated approach reflects our belief that wellbeing and achievement go hand in hand.
A Beautiful and Historical Setting
A school steeped in romance and history, HCH was built over two centuries ago by the Earl of Halifax as a testament to his love for Anna-Maria Donaldson, a famous opera singer. Designed by renowned architect Thomas Wright, special period features include the heart shaped lake, exquisitely decorated shell grotto, winter garden adorned with palm trees and unique Icehouse. Later residents of the house include the 4th Earl of Sandwich and the Twining’s family.
Our Grade II listed building is located right on Hampton Court Palace’s doorstep, nestled in beautiful parkland on the cusp of Bushy Park. Our historic and charming school includes an onsite Forest School, Science and IT labs, art studios, amphitheatre, a community garden which has been awarded the highest Royal Horticultural Society Level 5 award, a sports MUGA and junior football field .
A Dukes Education Family School
HCH is part of the Dukes Education family, a network of schools carefully chosen for their academic excellence, individual character and ethos. This enables us to work in partnership with schools on a global scale to share best practice and knowledge, while maintaining our own unique identity and ethos. Our purpose is to use our network of Dukes schools to give our students the best education informed by the latest educational practices and give them the foundations for an extraordinary life.
A Place where Children Love to Learn
Above all, Hampton Court House is a school where students are happy. They enjoy coming to school, engaging enthusiastically in learning and valuing the strong relationships they build with staff and peers. Classrooms are characterised by focus and curiosity, while the wider school community is marked by warmth, respect and shared purpose. Students leave Hampton Court House not only with qualifications, but with confidence, strong friendships and a genuine love of learning. We are proud to be a school where young people are challenged, supported and inspired to become the very best version of themselves – ready for whatever path they choose next.
