Head of Performing Arts

Hampton Court House is a fast-growing co-educational independent school situated in beautiful riverside parkland between Richmond and Hampton in southwest London. The school is all-through from Pre-Nursery to Year 13. We seek an organised and passionate Head of Performing Arts who has the enthusiasm... to inspire interest in performing arts in children of all ages and who will teach a performing arts subject (ideally music).

The Head of Performing Arts will be a new role and the successful candidate will unite the subjects of music, drama and dance (primarily ballet). He or she will work with the existing staff to generate the vision and ethos for each course and lead the department in developing a coherent curriculum across all three strands throughout the school from the Early Years through to Sixth Form. The applicant will be able to work with existing structures as well as developing new ones to ensure that students on the different courses receive teaching of the highest possible standards and achieve excellent results.

The role will involve co-ordinating the team of around 10 peripatetic music teachers, processing applications for individual music lessons and creating a timetable spreadsheet of private music lessons at the start of each term, with assistance from the Music Administrator. He or she will also be responsible for organising concerts and shows and will collaborate with other departments on assemblies and special cultural events where possible.

The role involves liaising with parents and colleagues on a regular basis, so excellent communication skills are a must.

Part-time Childminder – Term Time Only

To start on Monday 3 September 2019, 2 days a week term time and INSET days only.

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic childcare professional to work in our Daycare. The Daycare centre caters to a small group of children ranging in age from 3 – 36 months. Currently there are six children,... mostly children of teachers in the school.

While candidates do not need to be qualified at the time of application, anyone appointed will be expected to acquire a minimum level three qualification in Early Years Education. There will be some room for professional development as part of this role.

Mandarin Teacher

Hampton Court House is situated opposite Hampton Court Palace, adjacent to Bushy Park. We are a fast-growing school, with pupil numbers increasing each year. The school occupies a three-hectare site within landscaped grounds. There are 250 pupils from pre-school to Year 13.

Our Sixth Form teaching is... scheduled between 1.30 pm and 7 pm to suit the circadian rhythm of adolescents in their late teens. Class sizes at A level are very small and our students are of a high calibre looking towards Oxbridge and other Russell Group universities.

We seek a charismatic communicator to teach Mandarin to Years 5 to 11, and to adults after school as part of our Form Seven programme. The successful candidate will be expected to design a programme to offer A level Mandarin in future years.

The position is to start at the beginning of the Spring Term (January 2020).

We are looking for well-qualified linguists, who will be able to inspire enthusiasm in our pupils and help to promote the high cultural and academic ethos of the school. All of our teachers are expected to contribute enthusiastically to the wider life of the School.

Full-Time Childminder – Term Time Only

We are looking to recruit an Early Years practitioner (working with children from 3 months to 36 months) starting in September. The Daycare facility was set up mainly for the children of members of staff and there will be 6 children to care for from September. Starting in the Autumn Term, this is a full-time... (term-time and INSET days only) position Monday to Friday, 8 am – 5.30 pm with some occasional late finish times.

We are seeking an Early Years practitioner who enjoys working in a small team. He or she should be responsible, dynamic and able to take initiative. The successful candidate should have a warm and nurturing personality and instil a love of learning to very young children.

Applicants must have an Early Years qualification to at least a level 3 standard or be willing to work towards the qualification.
