Part-Time A level Geography and A level Economics Teacher

We are looking to recruit a part-time teacher of A level geography to start in September. Candidates who have a strong interest in economics are encouraged to apply as there is also the possibility of teaching A level economics.

Our Sixth Form teaching is scheduled between 1.30 pm and 7 pm to suit the... circadian rhythm of adolescents in their late teens and candidates must be available to teach until 7 pm. However, from September the Sixth Form timetable may be adjusted on certain days to a 10.45 am start and 5.20 pm finish.

Class sizes at A level are very small and our students are of a high calibre looking towards Oxbridge and other Russell Group universities.

We are looking for a well-qualified teacher of A level geography. Candidates who have some experience teaching economics, or a strong interest in the subject with a willingness to teach at A level would be ideal. Candidates will be able to inspire enthusiasm in our pupils and help to promote the high cultural and academic ethos of the School. Applications are equally welcome from teachers with a few years’ experience, or from a retired teacher interested in some part-time teaching.

If you would like to discuss informally further details of the post, please contact the Deputy Head, Ben Ruddin, by email (btr@hchnet.co.uk).

Start date – September 2020

Please send in your application form by Thursday 9 July at 4 pm.

Salary – negotiable dependent on experience and qualifications.
