Year 6 stride putting young minds to work

This term Year 6 are launching their own businesses as part of the Putting Young Minds To Work course on entrepreneurship.

In the first session the children discussed what qualities they bring to a team, before dividing into groups with balanced skill-sets. Each week the Year 6 students will spend their Wednesday afternoon learning about product development, finance, marketing and presentation skills.

Putting Young Minds To Work is run by Stride Ventures, an organisation founded by Nikki de Bruin and Elena Macia, two local businesswomen, to open primary-aged children’s minds up to the world of business.

The course will culminate in the children pitching their ideas to a panel of “dragons”, before launching their businesses at the SUPer Mile world record attempt event at Queen Mary Reservoir on Saturday 18 June.
