Year 3 Camping Expedition

On Friday 26 May, after a chilly and rainy start, we enjoyed bright and sunny spells for most of our stay at Boidier Hurst.

After setting up our tents in a bit of patchy rain, we had a well-deserved picnic and play time. Once our camp was organised and tidy, we headed off for a hike in the woods. We endeavoured to complete our mini beast quest and encountered various plants and muddy puddles!

After our entertaining walk, Josep taught us how to weave using wooden sticks and anything we could find. We ended up with an interesting creation made only with natural elements: forest school style!

While some of us relaxed and played quietly in the tents, others energetically played cricket or football with Tom.

Finally, we prepared and lit our campfire: we were really looking forward to this! We cooked dinner and roasted our marshmallows on sticks over the fire. What a treat!
After a bit of playtime we put on our pyjamas, brushed our teeth and got ready for story time in the dark with our torch. That was fun!

On Saturday morning, after a short night’s sleep we got ready, packed our bag and had breakfast. We took down our tent and had some drama games with Claire. Soon it was time to go home. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed every minute of our camping trip! We look forward to going again… maybe next year?
