Y9 to Y12 Survival Skills Weekend

Students from Y9 to Y12 went on a Survival Skills trip in Ashdown Forest with Really Wild Education. They learned how to build their own shelter, make their own dinner over a campfire, conduct a search and rescue in the dark, start a fire using a fire steel, and how to safely use a knife to carve useful tools like tent pegs. The weather was cold, but it didn’t rain which made sleeping in their shelters more comfortable. They had a great time and learned the preliminary skills most of them will need on the Arctic expedition they will be taking next year during the Easter break.
