World Maths Day

Treasure hunts, saving the world from evil Aliens, solving murder mysteries, going shopping for fruit and vegetables, winning goats or cars…we certainly had a lot of fun on World Maths Day.

For one day we exchanged the classroom for the theatre. With two different age groups doing different activities at any one time during Wednesday, there was a lot of thinking, challenging, discussing and calculating going on. Students needed to work in teams to solve puzzles and were pushed to think outside the box.

The day was a great success and we are now looking forward to Pi day on the 14th where anyone can take part in the Pi challenge. Who will be reciting Pi to the most digits? 3.1415926535…..
