Upper Years Activities Evening

As the sun slid gently below the trees and the Upper Years Activities Evening began students were transported back through time to the age of Kings with a unique opportunity to take part in falconry. Students were introduced to two owls, a falcon and a young bald eagle. Each of these magnificent birds was flown and handled by our brave students, under the watchful eye of an experienced instructor.
Elsewhere our resident chef gave students a crash course in cooking, demonstrating different techniques and rustling up a wonderful French chicken dish accompanied by crème brulee, indeed, the students were so fascinated by Junior’s expertise that we are already looking for ways of expanding upon this unique experience.
Outside our students took part in a hugely competitive game of tug-of-war and played five-a-side football. With sun now set we retired inside. Here the students demonstrated their own culinary skills through the creation of a myriad of different sandwiches – some worked, some did not. Valiantly our judges tried around thirty sandwiches and were briefly incapacitated by a unique offering from Calvin.
All told the evening was magical and we hope you enjoy the photographs that follow.
