Peter completed his initial training contract with a West End London firm of Chartered Accountants and then transferred to Baker Tilly in Guildford in 1986 where he qualified. Over the following 10 years, he worked within the Business Services Department, providing audit and business advisory services to both owner-managed businesses and large multinational corporate groups. Having moved through the ranks, Peter was promoted to partner in the Business Services Department.
Having spent 14 years with Baker Tilly, in 2000 Peter moved to a practice based in Kent and Sussex and then subsequently took the opportunity to rejoin ex colleagues in Guildford and joined Bessler Hendrie in 2003.
The move back to Guildford provided an exciting opportunity to be a significant part of the growth of a new practice which had been formed in 1997 providing business and taxation advice to a wide range of owner managed businesses. Peter continues to advise with a special interest in hospitality, manufacturing, property and the motor trade.
Since 2013, on the retirement of one of the founder partners, Peter has also taken the mantel of the firm’s Managing Partner.
Peter spends most of his free time keeping his teenage family in order and when possible, he enjoys sailing and cycling.
