WE Day and Ayrton’s “World Food Challenge”On International School Meals Day on 6th March, Ayrton showed his new film “The World Food Challenge” in front of NGOs and government agencies, such as the World Bank and USAID. In the film Ayrton talks about how 1 in 8 people go to bed hungry every day, despite us having enough food to feed everyone,... and challenges young people to solve it. It was also aired at WE Day at Wembley Arena in front of 12,000 young people, and a group of us from school attended. WE Day is really amazing! The idea is that you can’t buy a ticket; you can only earn it, through service, such as volunteering. The speakers included Malala, Al Gore, Prince Harry, and Richard and Holly Branson. There were also some less well-known, but very moving speakers, such as Molly Burke, a blind girl, who told her story about bullying. It really inspired us to act when something bad is going on. Also, Martine Wright, the para-Olympian who had her legs blown off in the 7/7 bombings, inspired us with her story about how she realised after the bombings she had a choice – to spend the rest of her life feeling pity for herself and the other victims, or to use what happened to empower herself and others to do greater things than she ever thought possible before. What a great day!See more+14

Concert for ConfidenceWe encourage as many students as we can to go and try out performing in public, to build their concentration and confidence. This is a concert specially organised for students who are either very new to performing on stage, or who have just started to play an instrument or sing. Or indeed for those who... feel “fear” to perform in front of an audience bigger than their immediate family. I know all of them were very nervous, however they performed and face their “demons”. Well done and big congratulations to all!See more+10
