Lower Years Marché aux Puces

On Friday 27th September the Lower Years and the HCH Fundraising Club held a ‘Marché aux puces’ (Flea Market) for War Child from 3.15 pm to 4 pm. The project was the initiative of two girls, Leah and Laila, now in Year 3, who decided last term that they should organise a flea market in order to raise money to help other children in need.
The flea market was held on the lawn in front of the school and children set up their stalls in small groups to sell their second hand toys or clothes, and there was a very popular cake stall run by the older members of the fundraising club.
The ‘Marché aux puces’ went very well, with many visitors from the Middle and the Upper Years and the nicest weather we could wish to have. Thanks to your support and your help, the Fundraising Club raised more than £340! This money will be distributed to War Child and other charities. A big thank you from the children of the Lower Years!
