Julian has brought his unique touch to HCH since its doors opened in 2001. Julian is primarily a composer, and studied composition and voice at the Royal Academy of Music, London. He has lived in Singapore, Jamaica, Paris and Los Angeles. He is an experienced director of cathedral choirs (including boys’ and girls’ choirs), performing in concerts at UK cathedrals (Salisbury, Wells etc). He is passionate too about jazz. Writer of music for films and numerous TV programmes and documentaries (Jonathan CreekCutting Edge for C4 etc) Former song-writer and arranger for Boy George (Culture Club), Stevie Wonder and many others. Director of music management company. Four works commissioned for the millennium concert at Durham cathedral.

Julian teaches composition to selected pupils throughout the school. He is also a fine photographer, cinematographer and editor.
