Emily Bloom

  • Recorder, Flute

A multifaceted performer on recorder and baroque flute, Emily Bloom is equally at home performing with an early music ensemble in the resplendent surrounds of St Martin-in-the-Fields as she is presenting a contemporary work in a disused biscuit factory as part of a nonclassical club night, and everything in between!

She is a member of the recorder quintet Consortium5 with whom she has recorded an album of English Renaissance music on the Resonus Classics label. She has performed widely across Europe with ensembles including Florilegium, Avison Ensemble and The Feinstein Ensemble.
Her repertoire spans music from the 15th century through to the present and includes a work that she commissioned from the British composer Edwin Roxburgh.

Emily is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music.
