Ben was born and raised in London and studied Geology at the University of Southampton. He then completed a Master’s Degree in Development and Environment. He spent two months in the Peruvian Andes surveying the effects of tourism on the ‘Santuario Histórico de Machu Picchu’, reporting back to one of the agencies responsible with his findings, which contributed to the body of evidence which changed policies towards the Santuario.

Ben then worked for a number of NGOs and travelled extensively which further enhanced his fascination with the subject. He went on to do a PGCE at the Institute of Education and worked in a variety of London schools before joining Hampton Court House.

Ben’s interest in everything Co-curricular and the value of what it does to define us and our character led him on to a leadership role and then into Senior Leadership.

Ben has an interest in pushing the boundaries of the subject and making fieldwork integral to a positive Geography curriculum. Other interests include walking, travel, reading, art, swimming and of course his young family.
