Hampton Court House shortlisted for Senior School of the Year in TES Independent School Awards 2020

The most outstanding individuals and institutions that the independent sector has to offer have been recognised in the shortlist for the 2020 TES Independent School Awards.

Hampton Court House, which has been hurtling up the rankings in recent years, picking up two Good Schools Guide awards for some of the best GCSE results in the UK, and topping the Independent Schools Council league table for ‘small independent schools’, has been shortlisted this year by the TES for the title of Senior School of the Year.

TES editor Ann Mroz said, “we received an unparalleled number of entries this year. The schools that have been shortlisted should be proud – it’s a remarkable achievement In reaching the shortlist”. TES judges took into account not only HCH’s excellent examination results but also the School’s innovative approach to Sixth Form education in pioneering a ‘later start’ to accommodate adolescent circadian rhythms, as well as the school’s commitment to providing daycare provision for the babies and toddlers of teachers.

Guy Holloway said: “Hampton Court House is both traditional and forward-looking; our exam results and ‘value added’ are amongst the best in the country and we have achieved this by making a number of small incremental improvements in every aspect of school life. It is wonderful for our pupils and staff and to have this hard work recognised by the Times Education Supplement in our shortlisting for Senior School of the Year. “

The winners will be revealed at a gala awards evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on Friday 7 February 2020
