The preparation begins in earnest in Year 5, with particular emphasis on maths and English. Pupils in Years 5 and 6 also familiarise themselves with verbal and non-verbal tests. All our Year 6 children sit internal assessment tests in January. These assessment tests form part of the School’s ongoing monitoring and tracking process. Furthermore, some senior schools (notably Eton College, Westminster School and Marlborough) ‘screen’ pupils in Year 6, with a view then to offering them a conditional offer based on a successful performance in 13+ Common Entrance.

Most of our children elect to stay on at Hampton Court House for their 13+ Common Entrance exams in Year 8 and indeed for GCSE afterwards.

A small number of children choose to sit Year 6 entrance exams for other schools, and in recent years pupils have successfully gained places at Kingston Grammar School, Tiffin Boys’ School, Latymer Upper, St Paul’s Girls’ School, Godolphin & Latymer.
