A Celebration of Indian Culture

Learning by doing: this is exactly what the children in Years 3 and 4 did on this term’s Activities Day. They took part in Indian workshops and celebrated Diwali and Holi festivals, wearing traditional bangles and bindis.

In the morning, they made beautiful diya lamps and then danced to the rythm of Bollywood music. At lunchtime, they savoured an Indian curry and a scrumptious fruit platter. In the afternoon, they learnt about famous Indian Gods and drew their favourite one.

They then experienced their very own Holi Festival using coloured powders and changed their plain white tee-shirts into exciting works of Art!
