Activities Day Y5 and Y6 Visit the British Museum

At the British Museum, Years 5 and 6 explored a part of the museum that most people overlook: the East Asian collection. First the children picked their favourite Ming-dynasty and Qing-dynasty objects, looked them up on the museum’s computers, and then completed worksheets about them. Next they used Samsung tablets to explore the museum’s Shang-dynasty collection, before spending a bit of time in the Korean gallery (unfortunately, the Japanese rooms are currently closed). Finally, we travelled across the museum–and time– to look at the Sutton Hoo Anglo-Saxon treasure, where Clarisse joined us and showed the children a mask that they had studied in Humanities. It was a really fun visit!
