Twickenham MP Munira Wilson opens Hampton Court House School Bus Library during National Storytelling Week

Hampton Court House is delighted to announce the official opening of our one-of-a-kind School Bus Library, inaugurated by our Twickenham MP Munira Wilson during our National Storytelling Week celebrations on 1st February 2024.

Inspired by the creative minds of our Student Council, we’ve transformed an old double-decker bus into a vibrant and unique library space. Munira Wilson addressed our students, cut the ribbon, and explored the School Bus Library, emphasising the importance of fostering a passion for reading in every child.
Kate, Principal, highlighted the collaborative spirit at Hampton Court House where student input is valued in every decision.

Local author Alice Ross joined the festivities, presenting copies of her latest book, “The Nowhere Thief,” to Prep pupils in Years 5 and 6 during a series of workshops. This was made possible with the support of the Friends of HCH PTA.

The bus is now a permanent fixture outside our Science laboratories and Humanities block, filled with books suitable for all age groups. We invite our entire school community to embrace this new space for learning and exploration.
