“Since my time at HCH, I often dreamt of going to uni as a big boy. But now that I’m at uni I often think about my childhood back at HCH. I still remember the first time I set my foot on the main hall of HCH and being amazed by a school environment so different but brilliant that I had never experienced before. I remember playing in the woods in the back garden, trying cricket for the first time in my life, being a page-turner at a concert, and playing football during break time and coming back to class completely drenched…
HCH offered me a life changing experience; with much attention and interest from teachers, I naturally began to take interest in academic work. The school changed me from an average kid with no particular ambition or interest into someone keen and excited with a goal to achieve. HCH prepared me for the scholarship examination to join Wellington College, and from there to read Biochemistry at Oxford University. Now that I reflect back to my childhood, I really appreciate how fortunate I was to be a part of HCH.”
